BURGER PEPPERS AND ONION GYROS


 




INGREDIENTS :

°1 ½ pounds lean ground beef

°Salt and pepper to taste

°3 teaspoons olive oil

°1 cup chopped green pepper

°1 cup chopped red pepper

°1 cup onion, chopped

°1 can Rotel Green Chilies with diced tomatoes, your choice of hot or mild

°4 pita breads, softened and slightly warmed

°½ cup sour cream

°¼ crumbled blue cheese

DIRECTIONS :

FIRST STEP:

Lightly reheat the pitas in the microwave
In skillet, crumble ground beef
Add olive oil, green and red peppers and onion

SECOND STEP:

Cook until the meat is no longer pink
Continue until the peppers and onions are softened

THIRD STEP:

Add the can of Rotel and stir to combine well
Seasoning with salt & pepper to taste

FOURTH STEP:

Lay out four sheets of aluminum foil
Place a pita on each

FIVE STEP:

Add about ¼ of the meat mixture on each pita
Using the foil wrap the foil and the gyro together
Top with sour cream and blue cheese if desired.
