Classic Pea Salad Recipe

 


Classic Pea Salad is a creamy, refreshing dish made with sweet peas, smoky bacon, cheddar cheese, and a tangy mayonnaise dressing. This quick and easy salad is perfect for BBQs, potlucks, or weeknight dinners. Ready in minutes, it’s a versatile, crowd-pleasing side dish that gets even better after chilling!

Ingredients :


4 cups frozen peas (thawed)

½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded or cubed

½ red onion, finely chopped

½ cup bacon, cooked and crumbled

½ cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions :


1. Prepare the Peas: Place thawed peas in a large mixing bowl.

2. Mix Salad Ingredients: Add chopped red onion, crumbled bacon, and cheddar cheese to the peas.

3. Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar (if using), salt, and pepper until smooth.

4. Combine and Toss: Pour the dressing over the salad mixture. Gently toss until everything is well-coated.

5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve chilled.

Notes :

For a lighter dressing, you can substitute half the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.

Add hard-boiled eggs or sunflower seeds for extra texture and flavor.

This salad can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
